By a communication of November 17, 2010 the Danish Patent and Trademark Office specified that the Madrid Protocol for the International Registration of Trademarks would apply to Greenland in respect of any designation of Denmark in international registrations and in any subsequent designation from January 11, 2011 and later.
As you know, Netherlands extended the application of the Madrid Protocol concerning the International Registration of marks to the Netherlands Antilles starting from April 28, 2003. Now this situation is changing, due to political modification of the relationship between the two countries. Continue
The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) notified the deposit by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, on September 17, 2010, of its instrument of accession to the Nice Agreement concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks of June 15, 1957, as revised in Stockholm on July 14, 1967, and in Geneva on May 13, 1977, and amended on September 28, 1979.
According to WIPO, the Geneva Act of the Nice Agreement as amended, will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Serbia, on December 17, 2010.
Recently Kazakhstan has joined the Madrid Protocol for the International Registration of Marks. The Madrid System will become operational in Kazakhstan on December 8, 2010. From that date, it will be possible to designate Kazakhstan as part of an international application for registration or territorial extension made to WIPO.
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) announced the accession by Israel to the Madrid Protocol for the International Registration of Marks, effective from September 1, 2010. After the said date, it will be possible to designate Israel as part of an international application for registration or territorial extension made to WIPO.

Macedonia ratified the Lisbon Agreement for the protection of Appellations of Origin and their International Registration. This decision has been published on the Official Gazette No. 77 of June 8, 2010.
The agreement will enter into force three months after the date on which the WIPO is notified of the ratification.
