The Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs will enter into force in Tajikistan on March 21, 2012. Consequently, to obtain design protection anyone can file a single application at WIPO and designating any or all the countries members of the Geneva Act.

On 3 May 2011, Qatar deposited its instrument of accession to the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty); from 3 August 2011 Qatar became a PCT contracting state.
Accordingly, it is possible to designate Qatar in any international patent application filed on or after as of 3 August 2011.
However, the Qatari Patent Office will be ready to receive national phase applications starting from middle October 2011.
The official fees and date of annuity have not yet be decided.
Rwanda recently deposited its instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) at the Wipo.
The Treaty will enter into force on August 31, 2011.
Rwanda became the 144th PCT Contracting State.

With effect from June 1st, 2010 Israel access to the Madrid Protocol for the International Registration of Marks, making the 85th member of the Wipo and the 82nd Member of the Protocol.
Starting from September 1st, 2010 the Israel Trademark Office adopt a multi-class filing and registration system, enabling new applications to be filed in multiple classes, with a reduced official filing fee being applied to each class after the first. Continue
